Established in 1956, Orthos Engineering are manufacturers’ agents specialising in bulk solids processing equipment and in-process fire protection. We help our clients to improve and protect their manufacturing efficiency by supplying high quality process machinery and spark detection systems.
From the outset, Orthos has supplied process equipment at the heart of industrial processes like yours. Two of Orthos’ original principals were Alexanderwerk and Eirich, both of which, we’re proud to say, remain with us to this day. Other principals have joined us over time e.g. for more than 25 years we’ve been the exclusive UK distributor of Firefly spark detection systems. So whatever your need, whether it’s new or used process equipment, fire protection systems or perhaps just advice, you can call on us to discuss your next process improvement – it’s our business to help you.
People often ask us what the word “Orthos” means. In truth there are many different definitions in circulation, most linked to the Greek word “Ortho” but the one we tend to answer with most is “straight and upstanding” – since these words best describe the founding principles of the business.
